I agree that jumping into the fire is not the best plan. And I have met a similar character to the lady who has the horror stories. They are always lurking, waiting for a chance to steal some attention. Now, may I recommend a great cheap place to get an education? Toastmasters. You talk, you listen , you get feedback and support. If you are in practice, you will need to talk, Why not be good at it? If not for you and your practice, then for all the people you might reach who never would otherwise know they can live better.
